Certification and badges

Compare Water Damage Restoration checks specific facts about a company. When a fact checks out, the company's profile shows a badge with the check date. A badge is never sold, and a badge never changes where a company appears in the ranked list. The ranked list uses only the published formula on the methodology page.

What a badge never does

  • A badge is never sold. Paying Compare Water Damage Restoration for anything does not grant, speed up, or keep a badge.
  • A badge never changes rank. The ranking formula does not read badge data at all.
  • A badge shows only a fact Compare Water Damage Restoration checked itself, on a stated date, with a stated source.
  • A badge expires. Compare Water Damage Restoration removes a badge when the underlying fact is no longer current.

The badge levels

Badge levels are not seeded yet. Run the certification migration and npm run seed.

How the ranking formula already uses verification

The published formula already scores 30% of a listing on verification: a current licence (10 points), insurance on file (10 points), and a live phone test call (10 points). A badge is a visible label for facts in that same log; it does not add a second, separate ranking boost. See /methodology/ for the full formula.

List your business or claim an existing listing, then give Compare Water Damage Restoration the licence number, insurance certificate, or IICRC certification number to check. See the exact criteria on the criteria page.
