Psychrometry

Psychrometry is the study of air and how it holds moisture. In restoration work, a technician measures temperature, relative humidity, and grains of moisture per pound of air to understand how fast a wet building will dry. Warmer air holds more water vapor than cooler air, so raising temperature and moving air across wet surfaces speeds up evaporation. Technicians use these readings before, during, and after a drying job to confirm the structure is actually drying, not just warm.
